Curry Spiced Chicken Wings
It is amazing what a good spice section can do to your cabinet. I spent the day with a lovely friend shopping and the aroma of yellow curry filled my nose as I weaved in and out of aisles. I had to stop and get loads of it along with about 10 other spices in bulk form. The curry is the inspiration behind this lovely twist on the traditional chicken wing. Here is what you'll need...
Ingredients:
4lbs of chicken wings
2 tablespoons of yellow curry
2 tablespoons of cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons of pink Himalayan salt
2 teaspoons of black pepper
2 tablespoons of olive oil
*change the seasoning amounts based on your own tastes. Add more curry if that is your thing!
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Sprinkle wings with salt, pepper, curry, and cayenne. Drizzle in olive oil.
3. Toss wings until evenly coated.
4. Arrange in one layer on aluminum foil-lined baking sheet.
5. Bake for 40 minutes, turning each wing halfway through cooking.
*The internal temperature should reach 190 degrees (for those who are like me and don't have a meat therometer, you'll know when they're done). The wings should be crispy. If you are worried about the wings being underdone just keep an eye on them until the time reaches 1 hour. :-)
Tips and Combinations
Serve these tasty wings with your favorite dipping sauce. If you want them extra crispy toss them into a fryer for a few minutes after being fully baked. I challenge you to use a new spice this week!
