Ingredients
chicken (breasts or thighs)
cooked rice
onions
tomatoes
garlic powder
onion powder
salt
pepper
smoked paprika
tortillas/wraps
*Sauce
1/4 cup of sriracha
2 tablespoons of honey
1/4 cup of bbq sauce
Directions
1. Season your choice of chicken with the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. You can be liberal with your seasoning just this once!
2. Pan fry your chicken over medium heat with a few tablespoons of oil. Cook until each side has a deep golden color, and the seasoning has created a crust. Flip only once, so keep an eye on it!
3. Slice your onion into big strips and cook until translucent in the same pan as the chicken. Use all that good chicken seasoning to flavor the onion!
4. Are you ready to wrap? I am assuming you've cooked your rice to the directions on the bag or box and mixed together your honey, sriracha, and barbeque sauce in a separate bowl. Then you are ready!
5. Get wrapping! Lay down a bed of lettuce, top with rice, then fresh tomatoes, add the cooked onions, and finally lay down your chicken (cut it into thick strips as well).
6. Drizzle sriracha- honey sauce all over the top!
7. ROLL, TUCK, EAT!!!!!!!
Tips and Combinations
I think the sauce makes this one extra special. I am not too keen on overly spicy foods, but the honey and barbeque sauce tame the extreme that is Sriracha! If you do like it really spicy, just pile on more Sriracha and leave it at that!
Seasoning is key! Don't be skimpy with the spices on this one, we are using them to create that great crust when pan frying. I am not saying it should be anywhere near as thick as if you lightly breaded the chicken, but it should have slight depth.
I suggest making this one for a dinner party and letting guest assemble their own wraps. Who doesn't like to have a little part in the cooking process? Even if it is a small part......
Remember, there is no wrong way to create a great meal......
