Blueberry-Blackberry Compote

Ingredients

1 cup of blueberries

1 cup of blackberries

1/2 cup of sugar (I used Sugar In The Raw's natural cane turbinado sugar) 

1 cup of water

1 lemon

Directions

1. Add blueberries, blackberries, sugar, water, and the juice of one lemon to a saucepan over medium heat. 

2. Stir until sugar dissolves and berries become soft, about 5-10 mins. 

3. Simmer over low heat until mixture begins to thicken slightly. 

4. Remove from heat and drain through a mesh strainer to remove seeds using a spoon. 

5. Let cool or use immediately. Store in fridge for up to two weeks.
