Chocolate Dipped Chips

I usually talk a little before each recipe, but this one is too good to waste any more time. Here is how I made this sweet and salty treat.

Ingredients

1 9-12oz bag of plain potato chips (rippled, ruffled, kettle style, thick cut chips!)

1 11oz bag of milk chocolate chip morsels

1/3 cup of peanut butter

1 tablespoon of refined coconut oil

1 cup of chopped pecans or almonds

Sprinkles!

Directions

1. Take out the best potato chips from the bag. Full pieces without cracks or broken edges.

2. Melt half the bag of chocolate chips with the coconut oil in the microwave on 20-second intervals. (After each interval stir the chocolate. Repeat until it is smooth and pourable.)

3. Dip each chip half way and place it on a parchment-lined sheet pan.

4. Now is the time to add your toppings while the chocolate is still wet. Sprinkle on those pecans, a different kind of chocolate, and well.....those sprinkles! Also, using step 2 to melt the peanut butter, drizzle it over half your chips.

5. Once all your chips are dipped and topped allow the chocolate to set for 30mins, eat immediately after, or store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to two days.

6. Enjoy this crunchy, salty, sweet treat!

Tips and Combinations

If I could give one piece of advice when preparing this simple recipe it would be to have a sturdy chip. We are all looking for a bargain, but this one needs a good chip to support all the toppings.

If you want this treat to last beyond the two-day freshness then dip the entire chip in chocolate. You will encase the chip making it harder for staleness to set in.

For Party Planners: This is actually a fun food activity for an interactive dinner appetizer. Grab some bowls of chips, toppings and set a crockpot to warm for the chocolate and watch people dip away.
