Slice of Life

For some odd reason, cutting pineapples yesterday was very therapeutic. I turned on a little music and began to slice up this lovely fruit. I know there are people who don’t know how to cut up a pineapple even though the directions are on it, so I’ll let you in on a secret. Years ago, I only ate pineapple of the canned variety. Also,  I didn’t know the top twisted off. Give the ponytail a twist and it pops right off. Who would have thought! Cut off the top and the bottom, set it up straight and trim the sides. Once you have all the exterior gone, here is how you can chop it up.

I made homemade chili for dinner. I knew that only one drink could go with this hearty meal. I made virgin mimosas! I call them mimosas, but you can call them whatever you like. All you need is juice, some pineapple, and your favorite clear bubbly soda.

I felt really good about the day. I can’t really say it was the most amazing day ever nor did I get a whole lot accomplished. I just loved the feeling of cutting fresh pineapple and getting to taste the sweet rewards of my work. I guarantee that if you slice a pineapple today it will brighten your day and inspire you to satisfy your vibrant soul. Go ahead, it will be worth it.
